There are many sports and leisure activities in which visitors can participate, both at and near to our ‘Agriturismi’ and country houses in Umbria.
Horse-Riding
The countryside around Corciano and Mount Tezio and near the Tiber valley offers plenty of opportunity for unforgettable treks and rides for people with all levels of experience. While trekking through forests and along country paths, whilst admiring the breath-taking scenery and catching glimpses of ancient castles and churches, riders can not help but be enchanted by this beautiful region. Some of our ‘Agriturismi’ have their own stable yards with qualified instructors offering individual and group lessons and rides (for anything from one hour to four hours) or horse trekking for one or more days, both of which are guided by experienced and trained staff.
Excursions – on foot or by bike
Within the National Park of Mount Tezio, pathways snake their way around, making it possible to reach the summit with its large cross known as the‘Croce della Pieve’ safely. Here the effort of the climb is rewarded with truly fresh, clean air and overwhelmingly stunning views.
We suggest the following cycle itineraries (Difficulty level: Easy/Medium):
- Corciano - Ellera - Pieve del Vescovo - Mantignana-Castel Rigone - Villa Colle del Cardinale - Maestrello - Colle Umberto - Corciano.
- Umbertide -Pierantonio – Sant’Orfeto della Pinella - Tavernacce - Solfagnano-Parlesca - La Bruna - San Quirico - Abbazia Monte Corona - Podere Santa Beatrice Guardingo – Montone – Umbertide.
Golf
For golf-lovers, there are two courses near Perugia.
- The Santa Sabina golf club – 18 Championship holes; 5,717 metres; PAR 72
- and the Antognolla Golf Club – 18 hole competition course – 9 executive holes and 9 championship holes.
- The Caldese Golf Club, near Città di Castello has 6 holes and a driving range.
Bowls
There is a bowls club in Capocavallo, near Corciano.
Rock Climbing
Climbers can practise at the Mount Tezio climbing wall or in Pale near Foligno. Both offer climbs ranging from 5th to 8th grade.

Sport Fishing
Le Corone Sport Fishing Lake – E45 exit Ripabianca – direction Foligno This lake is available for hire for private competitions. During the winter it is possible to fish trout and during the summer, other species such as Black-bass.
Visitors can also fish on Lake Trasimeno and on the banks of the River Tiber, where, near Umbertide, there is an International Competition area.
Several of our ‘Agriturismi’ have private lakes open to those passionate about fishing.
Species include Pike, Large Eel, Carp, Tench, Perch, Common Whitefish, Common Bleak, European Chub and Barbel.
Tennis, Table-tennis and Five-a-side football
Tennis courts, five-a-side football pitches and ping-pong tables can be found in the majority of our properties or nearby.
Magione Autodrome
The Autodrome at Magione is most easily reached by the E45 road. It offers the possibility of training with one’s own car or motorbike and track hire.
Skydiving
The Trasimeno Skydive Club runs parachute/skydiving courses at its airspace in Panicarola (Perugia).
Hang-gliding and Paragliding
